In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic

Online Agricultural Marketplaces have recorded an upsurge in the number of buyers and sellers on their sites with the users adherence to social distancing.

In order to Flatten the Curve health authorities in Kenya are urging the populace to practice Social Distancing and proper Hygiene.

It’s is also advised that people reduce use of Paper Money and Coins and instead use Mobile Money and Mobile Banking.

Due to the disruptions in movement as a consequence of the Corona disease , it is adviced that consumers look for alternative modes of  shopping like use of e-commerce and online marketplaces.

Consumers and Buyers are taking into online shopping and as such Farmers are taking advantage of Online Marketplaces

Farmers Online Markets such as one offered by the  Mkulima Online initiative have seen recent increase in new users and website visitors.

To Sell on the platform one has to take a Picture of their produce, Register on the platform and upload the images with a short description on the Mkulima Online Market.

Small-scale Farmers and those in the Agricultural Value Chain can take advantage of Online Agricultural Platforms to Market their Produce and Services.
